Mats Knutson: "Difficult for the party to get into the heat"

Mats Knutson, SVT's domestic policy commentator, believes that the revelation about SD's group leader in Haninge affects which parties the Sweden Democrats could cooperate with after the next election.

- Jimmie Åkesson's ambitions have for a long time been to make the party room clean.

A party that others can and want to cooperate with, he says in Aktuellt.

The incident may also affect relations with the Liberals.

In the event of a possible government collaboration after the next election, SD may become dependent on the Liberals' support.

- They are sensitive to this type of recurring scandals within the Sweden Democrats, says Knutson.

But he does not think it affects voter opinion very much.

- The problem is that it makes it difficult for the party to get into the heat with the other parliamentary parties, Knutson says.
