Palestinian demonstrations and popular events rejecting normalization erupted today, Tuesday, in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, in response to the call of the Palestinian factions, coinciding with the date of signing the normalization agreements in Washington between the UAE and Bahrain with Israel.

The two Arab countries sign in the American capital today two agreements to normalize relations with Israel, which faces widespread Arab popular rejection, while Abu Dhabi and Manama consider it a "sovereign decision."

In Gaza, the Palestinian resistance factions organized an angry protest in front of the Legislative Council headquarters, refusing to sign the normalization agreement, and the participants placed a symbolic coffin for the Arab League to denounce its position on normalization with the occupation, then burned it.

And the Palestinian factions called for considering this day a day of rage in all Palestinian lands, and raising black flags over the rooftops.

The protesters also burned pictures of the leaders of the UAE and Bahrain, in addition to burning pictures of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump.

In Hebron, the demonstrators of Arab normalization considered a new occupation of Palestine and an assault on the rights and cause of the Palestinian people.

Demonstrations also took place in Ramallah, Jenin, Nablus and Tulkarm, and the demonstrators raised Palestinian flags and chanted slogans against normalization.

The demonstrators asserted that the Palestinian people will continue to resist them even if everyone fails them.

In the same context, the Follow-up Committee - the highest body representing the Palestinians within the Green Line - called for the establishment of a mass human chain at the entrance to the city of Umm al-Fahm, in conjunction with the signing ceremony of the normalization agreements between Israel, the UAE and Bahrain.

The committee said, "This event comes to denounce the quartet of shame deal that aims to conspire against the Palestinian people and their cause."

The Arab Committee stressed the need to end the occupation, achieve freedom and independence for the Palestinian people, and uphold the right of the refugees to return to their homes.

In turn, the Israeli occupation forces arrested a number of citizens from cities and camps in the occupied West Bank, including released prisoners.

A Palestinian journalist said that the occupation forces arrested 17 citizens during a security campaign in Jerusalem and separate parts of the West Bank, and took them to their investigation centers.

Peace in exchange for protection

In turn, Saeb Erekat, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, considered the UAE and Bahrain agreement with Israel "peace in exchange for protection."

"This step cannot be called a peace treaty or peace for peace, but peace in exchange for the protection of the United States," Erekat said in an interview with CNN.

Erekat added that Jared Kushner, an advisor and son-in-law to US President Donald Trump, “told a number of decision-makers in the Arab world that America is not obligated to continue with these matters (protection), and you have to bring Israel, and his theory is to create an Arab-Israeli NATO in the region, and this is a big matter. Dangerous. "

Regarding the possibility of normalization giving an opportunity for Arab countries to influence Israel, Erekat believed that what is happening denies that, saying, “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came out and said: I will continue to settle, and I will continue to annex the Palestinian lands, and said: There can be no Palestinian state On the 1967 borders, and the city of Jerusalem will not be divided, and East Jerusalem - including the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher - will be part of the capital of Israel. "

He asked disapprovingly: If it was not able to affect before the normalization decision, would it affect after normalization?

How will it affect you after paying the price ?!

I do not know what this negotiating behavior is, which says that this step will lead to help the Palestinians.

He stressed that the whole world realizes that the Palestinian issue is the key to a solution and the key to peace in the region, and even the countries that welcomed the agreements in Europe and elsewhere said, “We must not forget that the conflict is Palestinian-Israeli, and what is required to end and cancel is annexation and settlement, and what is required to establish it is the state of Palestine.
