The Briton Andy Murray benefits, as at the US Open, from one of the invitations to participate in the Roland-Garros tournament, scheduled from September 27 to October 11, the list of which was communicated on Monday.

The 33-year-old former world No. 1, who fell beyond 100th place after hip surgeries that prompted him to announce his retirement in early 2019, has finally reversed his decision and is attempting a return to highest level.

At the US Open, for his Grand Slam reappearance for the first time since the 2019 Australian Open, Murray had a lap.

Apart from the Scots, 110th in the last ATP ranking, all the other invitations were awarded to French people.

Among the guests are Canadian Eugénie Bouchard, 26, ex-No. 5 in the world and now 167th, and Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova, recent quarter-finalist at the US Open.

As well as the seasoned Pauline Parmentier, 34 years old and 162nd in the world, winner in 2019 of the Fed Cup with the French team in Australia.
