The disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) will examine Wednesday the five red cards distributed at the end of the "Clasico" won Sunday by Marseille against Paris SG (1-0), including the star player Neymar accused an opponent of racist slurs.

The club "firmly" supported their striker, who is one of the five excluded.

The members of the independent commission are responsible for determining the number of suspension matches incurred by Parisians Neymar, Layvin Kurzawa and Leandro Paredes, and by Marseillais Dario Benedetto and Jordan Amavi, all excluded in added time at the end of the start of a fight.

According to the disciplinary scale of the French Football Federation used as a reference for Ligue 1, a player guilty of an "act of brutality / blow" can be punished with up to seven matches of suspension if this occurs outside of a game action, without causing injury.

This could notably be the case for Kurzawa who punched Amavi in the face, who attempted a similar gesture in return.

The disciplinary committee will have to decide according to the range of possible sanctions according to the criterion adopted (excessive or inappropriate behavior, even intimidating or threatening, voluntary pushing, etc.).

It could also take up the accusations of racism made by Neymar against Marseille defender Alvaro Gonzalez.

The commission can decide to launch an investigation on these supposed acts, starting from the report returned by the arbitrator and while relying on the images of television.

- Ten suspension matches?

The capital club said it was counting "on the disciplinary committee of the LFP to investigate and shed light on these facts," in a statement released early in the evening.

"PSG strongly supports Neymar who told him he had been the victim of racist insults by an opposing player," he recalled.

A spitting from Angel di Maria towards Alvaro Gonzalez was also underlined by OM coach André Villas-Boas after the match, but this gesture "was the subject of a research by the video assistance to this minute, and she did not find any images that supported this fact, "Pascal Garibian, technical director of refereeing (DTA), told AFP.

Any racist behavior is punishable by a maximum suspension of ten matches.

Spitting directed at another player can lead to up to six suspension matches.

Their decision is expected Wednesday evening, while PSG will face Metz in a late match of the 1st day.

Many Brazilian football personalities have shown their solidarity with the Paris SG star.

"In sport (...) there is no place for people who proclaim hatred or racism. Do not be guided by hatred, my brother", wrote on Instagram Daniel Alves, ex- teammate of "Ney" at FC Barcelona, Paris SG and Brazilian selection.

"Love is the only way to fight hatred," concluded the 37-year-old full-back, who currently plays for Sao Paulo FC.
