Rafael Grossey, secretary-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said on the 14th local time that "the continuation of North Korea's nuclear activities is an obvious violation of the UN Security Council resolution."

In a speech at the opening of the IAEA's board of directors, Rafael Grossey said there have been signs over the past year that are consistent with the production of enriched uranium at a centrifuge enrichment facility in Yongbyon, North Korea.

"I urge North Korea to fully comply with its obligations under the Security Council resolution and to cooperate quickly with the IAEA in the full and effective implementation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Safeguard Agreement."

Earlier, the IAEA said in its annual report released on the 2nd, it was found that vehicles were moving and cooling units were operating at a nuclear fuel rod manufacturing plant in Yongbyon, suggesting that North Korea produced enriched uranium in centrifuges.

It also raised the possibility of enriching uranium in steel wires near Pyongyang.

However, the IAEA said there are no indications that North Korea extracted plutonium by reprocessing fuel after use for the same period.
