Two billion extra for the country's public transport for the first half of 2021. The government has now decided on this.

Together with the three extra billion for the first half of this year, the situation looks brighter for UL, which according to the forecast for 2020 risks losing SEK 360 million on reduced ticket sales in the wake of the corona pandemic.

It is the combination of fewer travelers and the fact that many do not pay when the front doors are kept closed that has created problems for UL since last spring.

Savings packages in progress

Prior to the next meeting, the politicians had prepared a kick-out package which, among other things, meant reduced city bus traffic.

- And as it looks now, we avoid it, so today's message is very positive.

Now there is only a lack of support for the second half of this year, but we hope that it will come soon, says Johan Örjes.

How the extra billions will be distributed among the country's regions is not yet clear - each region can apply for money based on how large losses have been made so far.
