With this new measure called the “rule of six”, the British government is desperately trying to avoid a devastating second general lockdown.

This drastic decision still has some exceptions: it does not apply to homes with more than six people, schools, workplaces or weddings and funerals.

But within a population worried and overwhelmed by months of restrictions, orders and counter-orders, the measure goes badly.

I'm not happy because our family has been very careful over the past six months,”

complains a lady.

We respected all the rules and now we are penalized because we are a big family

 ”.

Fine up to

3,500 euros ...

A Londoner testifies: "

We are a family of five, which means that we can see one more person, but it's a problem with my parents who are two and suddenly our children are afraid of not being able to. see their grandparents.

The problem is that on the one hand the government tells us "go out, go to the pub, go to work, send your children back to school" and on the other hand, they say "oh, we have to change everything" .

It's panic and it's really contradictory

 ”

On the whole, however, the British are resigned.

But the measure is all the more unpopular as the authorities have planned fines ranging from 110 euros up to 3,500 euros in the event of a repeat offense, and encourage the British to denounce the offenders by calling a special line.

Above all, the rule is more flexible in Scotland and Wales and many MPs are calling for more consistency from the government.
