The words of the EELV mayors on the Tour de France and the Christmas trees stirred public opinion.

"I find that heartbreaking", reacts Marlène Schiappa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior, in charge of Citizenship, on Europe 1. "I find that all the decisions that are taken by the EELV mayors are poopers."

INTERVIEW

In recent days, green mayors have been agitating public opinion.

Grégory Doucet, mayor of Lyon, had declared the Tour de France "macho and polluting".

As for the mayor of Bordeaux, Pierre Hurmic, he had indicated his wish not to install a Christmas tree, "a dead tree", on the Place Pey-Berland on the occasion of the celebrations.

"I find that heartbreaking", reacts Marlène Schiappa, Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior, in charge of Citizenship.

"I find that all the decisions that are taken by the EELV mayors since they have been in charge are spoilers," she laments.

"We really have the impression that anything that brings a little joy, cohesion, celebration, they want to ban."

"These are ridiculous decisions," she adds.
