13 September 2020Mugello bumper car.

Only twelve cars out of twenty (it hadn't happened since 2006) see the checkered flag but it is always he who triumphs, the cannibal Lewis Hamilton, who wins a 'crazy' Tuscan GP on the circuit that for the first time saw Formula racing cars One.

For the Briton, who strengthens his leadership in the world rankings, this is his 90th career success (-1 from Michael Schumacher's absolute record).

Second place for Bottas' other Mercedes, Ocon closes the podium on Red Bull.

Then Ricciardo, Perez, Norris and Kvyat.

Little glory for an always very slow Ferrari, which scores points in the 1000th GP of its history thanks to the multitude of retired drivers: eighth Charles Leclerc, tenth Sebastian Vettel.

Real chaos when traffic lights go out.

Disastrous start of Max Verstappen, who crashes with his Red Bull and ends up bumped into a mix that involves Gasly (out), Raikkonen, Grosjean and Vettel (forced to return to change the damaged front).

Race over for the Dutchman who cannot get out of the gravel with his car and, very angry, throws the steering wheel to the ground getting up from the cockpit.

The Ferrari driver Leclerc, on the other hand, was splendid at the start, taking off very strongly and finishing third behind the Mercedes of Bottas and Hamilton.

Obviously inside the safety car which, however, just got out of the way (on the eighth lap), sees another frightening crash behind him, this time involving Giovinazzi, Latifi, Magnussen and Sainz, all forced to retire.

Without six drivers (fortunately unharmed), and to free the track from cars and debris, the race direction wisely opts for a collective return to the pits waiting for a new restart.

Box from which not even Ocon will come out, due to a problem with the brakes of his Renault.

Machines on the grid for the second start (we are on lap 10 of the 59 total) with the world champion Hamilton who immediately passes his teammate Bottas.

Leclerc always third, but closely followed by Stroll's Racing Point who overtook him in the eighteenth lap.

At the wheel, the Monegasque must also collect the overtaking of Ricciardo (Renault), Albon (Red Bull), Perez (Racing Point) and Norris (McLaren), all clearly faster than the Red.

After the game of pit stops and a moment of 'apparent calm', on lap 44 another bang, protagonist Lance Stroll, with the Canadian who, however, does everything by himself, losing control of his car thanks to a puncture of a tire.

Red flag to move the Racing Point to a dangerous position (even a fire in the process of being removed) and the grand prix stopped again.

Third start on the grid of an infinite GP (still 13 laps to go): Hamilton does not make a turn and flies towards victory, Ricciardo stuns Bottas but the Finn responds immediately and resumes second position.

The Frenchman of Renault also undergoes the splendid overtaking (the best of the race) by Alexander Albon, who captures third place with his Red Bull.

Ferrari eighth with Leclerc and tenth with Vettel, but considering the only 12 cars that have reached the finish line, the darkness continues.
