It is an emblematic building, well known to Lorient residents, which was engulfed in flames on Saturday.
At around 2 a.m., a fire broke out in a floor of the old Le Terminus hotel, near Lorient station, reports Ouest-France.
About forty people were evacuated from this site which now houses private accommodation.
Luckily, no one was hurt.
No less than 80 firefighters took turns to overcome the fire.
This Sunday morning, any risk of recovery seemed ruled out.
The building, extremely weakened, however, presents a risk of collapse.
An investigation has been opened to determine the origin of the fire.
