“Not a single serious world politician perceives Crimea as part of Ukraine.

Everyone knows that this is part of Russia.

Whom we choose and what we carry out is an internal affair of Russia.

The sooner Kiev understands this, the sooner we will take the path of improving relations between our countries, ”the senator said.

At the same time, he ruled out the possibility of increasing sanctions pressure on Russia due to the statement of Kiev.

“We received all the sanctions that we could get on Crimea in 2014.

There can be no new sanctions, ”Jabarov added.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called the elections in Crimea "a gross violation of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine."

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014, in which most residents voted in favor of reunification with Russia.
