The Norwegian Karsten Warholm, who had shaken the world record in the 400m hurdles in August, came close to the 47 seconds mark on Sunday in Berlin, completing the lap in 47 sec 08/100, far ahead of the competition.

“I love this track, it's very fast,” said the two-time world champion (2017, 2019) after his run, “I'm in really good shape this season, I'm running around 47 seconds, and if you keep a good dynamic, the records will eventually arrive ".

On August 23 in Stockholm, the 24-year-old athlete had clocked an incredible 46 sec 87/100, the second performance of all time, 9 hundredths off the legendary world record of the American Kevin Young (46.78), which has been running since August 1992.

The pole vault competition was won by world record holder (6.18m) Armand Duplantis.

The Swede cleared a bar at 5.91m to secure victory in front of the Pole Piotr Lisek (5.82m).

He then failed three times at 6.15m.

The 3,500 spectators who had been admitted to the Olympic Stadium in Berlin (70,000 seats), due to coronavirus, were waiting for the local hero, the javelin thrower Johannes Vetter.

Vetter also had the second-best javelin performance in history on September 6 in Chorzow, Poland, with a throw of 97.76m, less than a meter from the world record of Czech legend Jan Zelezny, which launched to 98.48m in May 1996.

The German dominated the Berlin competition with 87.26m, quite far from his throw from Chorzow.

Finally in the triple jump, the double Olympic champion of London-2012 and Rio-2016, the American Christian Taylor, achieved the best performance of the year with 17.57 m, improving his own mark of 17.46 m established last week in Ostrava.
