First complaint before the Constitutional Council: the cancellation of the candidacy of Alassane Ouattara.

The second concerns the unconstitutionality of the ballot since according to his lawyers, the electoral law should have been voted in Parliament.

Finally the third concerns the candidacy of Guillaume Soro, the former rebel leader and ex-Prime Minister exiled in France.

There is a decision of the African Court of Human Rights which took place on April 22,"

recalls Maître Affoussiata Bamba-Lamine, Guillaume Soro's lawyer.

This decision is very clear, it says the following: first, Mr. Guillaume Kigbafori Soro, concerning him, all legal proceedings must be frozen;

second, the arrest warrant against him must be suspended;

thirdly, all his relatives who have been held in detention since January 23, 2019 must be released;

and finally, the state has 30 days to execute the decision from the time the decision is served on it

.

"

We are completely within our rights

 "

The lawyer continues: “

What have we done?

We went to submit our application since we are completely within our rights, we submitted our file.

And as soon as the list was published by the Constitutional Council of candidatures, the provisional list, we made a complaint to say that the Constitutional Council should not take into account the fact that our client had been removed from the electoral list. and the list of candidates, since in reality he is fully entitled to that list.

 "

And Affoussiata Bamba-Lamine concludes: "

The constitutional judge, if he takes into account the judgment of the African Court of Human Rights dated April 22, which is purely legal, he must declare our client candidate to this presidential election.

For us, it is very clear.
