International reactions to Bahrain's declaration of normalization with Israel continued, as Turkey denounced it, while Egypt and the UAE welcomed it, and Jordan demanded Israel take practical steps to achieve peace.

In a statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry announced its strong condemnation and concern about Bahrain's decision to establish diplomatic relations with Israel, in contradiction with the Arab Peace Initiative and the commitments of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The ministry affirmed that this step constitutes a blow to efforts to defend the Palestinian cause, perpetuates illegal Israeli practices in Palestine and encourages Israel to continue its occupation of Palestinian lands.

The statement indicated that the only way to establish peace and stability in the Middle East is through achieving a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, within the framework of international law and United Nations resolutions.

The Yemeni Houthi group also denounced the normalization agreement, and said in a statement that "the regimes rushing towards normalization do not represent their people, and will one day pay the price of betrayal at a great cost."

"The Palestinian cause has relieved of the burden of regimes that have long stabbed them in secret, and today they are publicly defaming them," she added.

The

two-state solution

As for the Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, commenting on the Bahraini-Israeli Peace Agreement, he said that the required change that is capable of achieving a just peace in the region must come from Israel, by stopping its measures that undermine the two-state solution, ending the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands, and fulfilling all legitimate rights of the people. Palestinian.

Safadi added in a statement that the basis of the conflict is the Palestinian issue, and that the condition for comprehensive peace is the end of the occupation and the embodiment of the independent Palestinian state with its capital occupied Jerusalem on the lines of June 4, 1967, on the basis of the two-state solution and in accordance with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.

He stressed that the effect of the agreement to normalize Bahraini-Israeli relations, and all peace agreements depends on what Israel will do. If the occupation remains and Israel continues with its measures, the conflict will worsen and the region will not enjoy peace.

Amnesty International (Amnesty) also said that any process aimed at a just and lasting peace in Israel and Palestine must include the removal of illegal Israeli settlements, as well as an end to the systematic violations of human rights, and justice and compensation for victims of crimes under international law.

The organization added, in tweets on Twitter, that no diplomatic agreement can change the legal duties of Israel as an occupying power under international humanitarian law and international human rights law, and that the Palestinians are not deprived of their rights and the protections guaranteed by international law.

Welcome and congratulations

On the other hand, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi telephoned the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to congratulate him on the announcement of the agreement with Israel, describing the step as historic.

He said in a tweet that it is an important step towards establishing stability and peace in the Middle East, and that it achieves a just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue.

In the same direction, the spokeswoman for the UAE Foreign Ministry said that the ministry congratulated Bahrain and Israel on their decision to establish full diplomatic relations.

The UAE expressed its hope that this agreement will have a positive impact on the climate of peace and cooperation regionally and internationally.

For his part, former US envoy to the Middle East peace process, Jason Greenblatt, said in an interview with Al-Jazeera that the normalization agreement between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain promotes stability in the Middle East, believing that the joining of countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman to this path will enable the solution of many of the region's problems. .

He added that the United States is making multiple gains from the normalization agreement between Israel and Bahrain, including reducing the financial and strategic costs of its military presence in the region.

Greenblatt called on the Palestinians to join the train of normalization, believing that this would be in their interest.

These statements came hours after US President Donald Trump announced that he had spoken by phone with Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and that Bahrain joined the UAE in concluding an agreement to normalize relations with Israel.
