The Syrian air defenses responded to an Israeli missile attack on the city of Aleppo early Friday, and dropped a number of Israeli missiles before they reached their targets, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA.
This attack is the latest that Damascus announced that Israel had launched the north of the country.
And Israeli defense officials have confirmed in recent months that Tel Aviv will escalate its campaign against Iran in the Syrian territories, as Tehran has expanded its military presence with the help of militias and groups fighting on its behalf.
Reuters quoted an intelligence source in the region that Israel is intensifying its raids at a time when the attention of the world and the region, including Syria, is focused on the Corona pandemic.
Israel admitted carrying out numerous raids inside Syria since the start of a popular revolution against the Bashar al-Assad regime in March 2011, which then turned into a full-scale war.
