China News Service, September 11th. According to Hong Kong’s Ta Kung Pao, a large explosion occurred in the Lebanese capital Beirut on August 4, resulting in thousands of casualties.

More than a month later, another fire broke out in the Beirut port area on the 10th. Fire and a large amount of black smoke erupted at the scene, causing panic among nearby residents.

At noon on the 10th local time, a burst of black smoke suddenly rose from Beirut port, flames also emerged from the ground, and the sky was filled with smoke.

There are video clips showing that port workers hurriedly dispersed as soon as the fire broke out.

Firefighters and ambulances rushed to the scene of the fire, and Army helicopters also participated in the rescue work.

There is no news of casualties.

However, local residents were still in the psychological shadow of the big explosion last month. They opened their windows, called and sent text messages to each other, and some people drove out of Beirut immediately.

Awad, a woman who lives near the port of Beirut, described herself in a panic. She said: "It seems to have felt the strong shock from the explosion last month."

The Lebanese military stated that the fire started in a warehouse where oil and tires were placed, and then spread to nearby areas where tires were stacked, and said that the burning of tires caused black smoke.

The military said it was too early to judge whether the fire was caused by high temperature or something else.

The head of the Lebanese Red Cross stated that no one was injured at present, but some people had difficulty breathing due to the fire.

This is the second fire in Beirut port this week. A small fire on the 8th also caused local panic, but the fire was quickly brought under control.
