Peskov admitted that in Russia "the consequences of the crisis caused by the pandemic around the world are being felt."

"Let's hope that in the foreseeable future we will first stop the decline and then move on to growth," TASS quoted a Kremlin spokesman as saying.

According to him, similar processes, "and with a high rate of decline," are observed in other countries.

As Peskov noted, in the short term, crisis manifestations cannot be avoided, but "thanks to the government's actions and prompt decisions, it was possible to minimize the damage to our economy."

He stressed that the authorities continue to work to minimize the consequences of the crisis.

Earlier, the head of state Vladimir Putin said that the peak of problems in the economy had passed.
