During the autumn, it is still voluntary among Knivsta's principals to arrange school photography, and about half of the schools will carry it out as the times have already been booked.

But next year it will be finalized - the agreement with the school photography company has not been extended.

According to Jonas Andrae Johansson, operations manager for the municipality's primary schools, the decision stands on three legs;

that it is not included in the core business, GDPR and not to affect guardians with increased costs.

- This takes time and resources from students' learning and development, and having a school catalog that is distributed is from a GDPR perspective not compatible with our business, he says.

Takes own pictures

On social media, the message has been met with both relief and critical voices.

The parent Frida Persson is one of those who was disappointed when she was told that there will be no more school photography.

- I like to check through my old catalogs, now the children will not be able to do it.

When it comes to individual photos, we will take it ourselves in a studio, she says.

In the clip above, Frida Persson and Jonas Andrae Johansson tell more about the decision.
