France is preparing to announce "difficult decisions" to confront "Covid-19"

France is preparing to announce new "difficult decisions" in an attempt to put an end to the escalation of the outbreak of the new Corona virus on its soil.

Today, the French government will present new measures to confront a situation described as "very worrying".

The head of the Scientific Council, which advises the authorities, said this week that the government "will have to take a number of difficult decisions," within "eight to nine days, maximum."

French President Emmanuel Macron responded Thursday that "no panic will ever be surrendered."

And 9,843 cases of the virus were recorded in France within 24 hours, according to data officially published Thursday evening, which is a record since the beginning of the epidemic and the launch of tests on a large scale in the country.

The United States and Brazil are still at the forefront of the countries with the largest number of deaths (191727 in the United States, 129,522 in Brazil as of Thursday evening).

And 28 million injuries have been recorded in the world to date, according to official figures for countries.

Despite all the efforts made to find a safe vaccine, the end of the epidemic "will not come quickly," according to what Michael Ryan, director of health emergencies at the World Health Organization, said Thursday.

The organization’s director, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, denounced the "lack of solidarity", calling for "global leadership, especially from the major powers."

"This is how we can defeat the virus," he said.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, considered that the world could not "return to prosperity" without a "huge jump" in funding estimated at 15 billion for the next three months.

In the last press conference held by the World Health Organization on Wednesday, a count of 35 "candidate vaccines" are being evaluated through clinical trials on humans around the world.

Nine of these vaccines are in the final stage or nearing the final stage.

This is known as the "third phase" during which the effectiveness of the vaccine is evaluated on a large scale involving thousands of volunteers.

The scientific magazine "The Lancet" published a study on Friday, confirming that confidence in finding a vaccine remains weak in Europe, but it tends to rise "in a number of countries, including Finland, France, Italy, Ireland and Britain."
