A gigantic fire broke out on Thursday in a warehouse in the port of Beirut, five weeks after the explosions in Lebanon.

The fire hit a warehouse where motor oil and car wheels are stored, the Lebanese military said in a statement.

A huge fire broke out Thursday in a warehouse in the port of Beirut, sowing panic among Lebanese still in shock from the deadly and devastating explosions that traumatized the capital five weeks ago.

Thick columns of black smoke are visible from several quarters of the capital.

The fire hit a warehouse where motor oil and car wheels are stored, the Lebanese military said in a statement.

On social networks, many videos show the columns of black smoke as well as the flames rising above the port of Beirut.

The origin of the fire is still unknown.
