The Galician centers face a

key day

this Thursday

.

The course begins for 4th and 5th grades of Early Childhood Education, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade of primary and Special Education, some 103,874 students, in a context marked entirely by the

uncertainty

of sanitary conditions, protocols and the availability of resources and measures for its fulfillment.

The situation has led to the rejection of teacher unions, ANPA confederations and complaints from some institutes, which have decided to delay the return to classes to guarantee a "correct" start to the course.

Some centers have indicated that it is "impossible" to open without knowing the number of teachers and the approval of the new hours, as reported by La Voz de Galicia.

A situation that prevents, has collected the Galician newspaper of teachers, organize teachers' schedules, assign spaces to students and consequently open the next few days.

The course start day also coincides with a

teachers' strike

called by CIG, CCOO, STEG and CSIF, with the aim of demanding that the Xunta make the necessary investment to hire staff, reduce students per classroom and compensate expenses. extraordinary due to the application of the protocol for adapting the centers to the situation caused by the Covid.

For older people, these organizations have the support of the student association movement and the ANPA confederations of public centers.

One of them, Anpas Galegas, not only supports the protest but also calls on families

not to send their children to class

on that day or to wear a black bracelet or bow to make visible their rejection of the situation, in the event of being forced to go for conciliation problems.

Another group of parents has organized through the group 'Families in Folga' and they have promoted a manifesto in which they warn that they will not take the children to class due to the lack of resources and resources, and they even call to prolong this protest indefinitely as long as classrooms are not safe, educational, and fair.

Organizations warn of ignorance or

concern

that exists in families.

In fact, a group of parents from Brión denounced the delay in communicating the regulations and the lack of information about the dining room service or their children's schedules, for which many say they will not send their children to the center.

POSITIVE IN MEIS

Some centers will also not start in proper conditions.

The CIG has denounced that the CPI Mosteiro de Meis will be forced to start the activity this Wednesday despite lacking a management team.

A

positive

in the tests carried out on the teachers forced the staff to be confined since last weekend and the beginning of the teaching activity could not be prepared in conditions.

The CIG denounces that the territorial chief, César Pérez Ares, has urged to start the course normally in this center, despite the circumstances and the lack of adaptation.

CLEANING REINFORCEMENT

In this panorama, the management teams and municipalities are working hard to finalize the details of the return.

In some cases, such as Arbo, the local government has had to reinforce by hiring an

external company

as it does not have the means or sufficient personnel to comply with the obligations required in the protocol of the health authorities.

Oroso, for his part, has approved a specific budget item to reinforce the cleaning and disinfection equipment, and has criticized the "abandonment" of the Xunta regarding the provision of means to comply with the autonomous instructions.

Regarding this issue, the Pontevedra Provincial Council released a report that warns that the disinfection of infant, primary and special schools due to Covid "is not the responsibility of the municipalities and represents a extension of the same that exceeds the pure cleaning ".

Other councilors have also asked the Galician government to take charge of providing the means to enforce the regulations.

Other entities, such as COGAMI, have called on Education to offer advice on inclusion matters and have extended the hand of organizations for people with disabilities so that students can return on equal terms.
