In mid-May, a ward at the infection clinic in Lund was forced to close temporarily, and more nursing homes in Skåne have been affected by the widespread spread of covid-19.

This has affected the well-being of the healthcare staff, says Malin Tillberg who is chairman of the Healthcare Association in Skåne.

- There has been a lot of anxiety that leads to an internal stress, she says.

Lack of protection

Many thoughts among the staff have been about the lack of protective equipment or how it should be used in cases where it has actually been available.

Malin Tillberg believes that the situation is now much better in the spring, partly due to the fact that there is a better supply of protective equipment.

Skåne has also had a better position in terms of the spread of infection compared with other parts of the country.

Want more people to work

For the future, she hopes that the stockpiling of both medicines and protective equipment will be improved.

- Then you have to have a higher staffing to be able to take height when things like this happen, says Malin Tillgren.
