The United Kingdom has until the end of the month to withdraw a bill calling into question certain Brexit commitments before the European Union takes legal action, the European Commission warned on Thursday.

The statement follows an urgently convened meeting in London between British Minister of State Michael Gove and European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic, who "called on the British government to withdraw these measures from the bill within as soon as possible and, in any case, before the end of the month ”, according to the press release from the European executive.

This bill has "seriously undermined mutual trust", said Maros Sefcovic, stressing that the EU "would not hesitate" to use legal remedies.
