China News Service, Beijing, September 10 (Reporter Ma Haiyan) On the 36th Teacher’s Day, Zhang Guimei, the principal of Huaping Girls’ Senior High School in Lijiang, Yunnan, along with 11 other teachers, was awarded the “National Model of Teaching and Educating” and also let People once again set their sights on China’s poorly educated areas, such as old and young, borderline and poor.

In the past year, Zhang Guimei's deeds moved many people.

This 60-year-old female teacher has been rooted in poverty-stricken areas for more than 40 years and is determined to cut off the intergenerational transmission of poverty with education, so that more than 1,600 female students in poverty-stricken mountainous areas can realize their dreams of university.

On the eve of Teacher's Day, the Ministry of Education of China issued a special notice requesting schools in all regions to carry out extensive learning activities from Zhang Guimei.

Narrowing the education gap between urban and rural areas, and helping the poor first help the wisdom, has been the direction of China's education efforts in recent years.

The government has approved special plans for teachers in remote poverty-stricken areas, frontier ethnic areas and old revolutionary areas, special plans for teachers in rural compulsory education schools (referred to as "special posts plan"), national training plans, and senior middle school senior and middle school senior lectures. The Tibetan Aid to Xinjiang Ten Thousand Teachers Supporting Education Program, etc., are sending high-quality teachers to poverty-stricken areas, continuously improving teachers' quality and ability, and alleviating the shortage of teachers.

In 2006, China began to implement the "Special Post Program."

Over the past 15 years, the central government has invested a total of 71 billion yuan to recruit 950,000 special post teachers, covering more than 1,000 counties and more than 30,000 rural schools in the central and western provinces.

The "Special Post Program Policy Research" research team of Beijing Normal University believes that the teachers supplemented directly or indirectly through the "Special Post Program" are the new generation of rural teachers with the largest number, the highest academic qualifications, and the most complete salary guarantee since the founding of New China.

In 2010, China began to implement the national training program.

During the ten years from 2010 to 2019, a total of 16.8 million teachers from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) participated in the national training program, of which the Midwest Project and the National Training Program for Kindergarten Teachers accounted for 94%.

The national training program has covered all deeply impoverished counties and rural teachers in impoverished areas.

In 2012, the Ministry of Education launched a special plan for teachers in remote poverty-stricken areas, border ethnic minority areas, and old revolutionary areas.

From 2013 to 2020, the plan will send more than 170,000 teachers to 1,272 counties to support education, and the central government will support a total of 2.4 billion yuan to achieve 680 contiguous extremely poor counties, 152 poor counties, 418 poor counties in the province, and 22 counties. Full coverage of difficult groups.

In the past five years, the central government has allocated 20.6 billion yuan in awards and supplements, benefiting nearly 1.3 million teachers in more than 80,000 schools in 725 counties in the central and western regions, and jointly implemented various security policies such as rural teacher medical treatment, housing, and honor awards.

In addition, various localities have also attracted a large number of outstanding talents to teach and support education in the countryside through multiple channels such as open recruitment, targeted training, "county management school employment", and retirement education support.

The "must entrance examination" and "certificate work" have greatly improved the overall quality of rural teachers.

With the acceleration of China's urbanization process, the people's demand for the quality and fairness of rural compulsory education continues to increase, and new gaps have emerged in key indicators of urban and rural education modernization.

Maintaining the continuous renewal of the contingent of teachers in rural schools is the key to improving the level of rural education and is of great significance to the overall realization of educational modernization.

Ren Youqun, director of the Teacher Work Department of the Ministry of Education, said that the next step will be to implement a series of central and western projects accurately, strengthen the shortcomings of the teacher team, effectively improve the status of teachers, and implement the rural teacher living subsidy policy in depth to reduce the "average salary level of compulsory education teachers. "Not lower than the average salary level of local civil servants" is put in place.

During the new crown pneumonia epidemic this year, the support of 17.32 million full-time teachers was behind 530,000 schools at all levels and 280 million students who "suspended classes, non-stopped schools, and non-stopped teaching".

China's journey from a country of talents to a country of talents is also inseparable from the supporting role of the world's largest teacher system.

The most fundamental thing to make respect for teachers and education become common practice is to improve teachers' salaries, make the allocation of teachers' resources more balanced, and make teachers' professional development smoother.

At the 2020 National Teacher Development Conference held on the eve of Teacher’s Day, the Minister of Education Chen Baosheng stated that the education system should take high-quality development as the main line, comprehensively deepen the reform of teacher team building, and remove the deep-seated system and mechanism barriers in teacher development. A new journey to comprehensively build a team of high-quality professional and innovative teachers.

Let people who have faith speak their faith, and let excellent people cultivate better people.
