According to the application, the demonstrations were intended to be held in Botkyrka, Fittja, Alby, Tensta, Rinkeby, Akalla, Husby, Sollentuna and Upplands Väsby on Saturday.

Koran burning led to riots in Malmö

Just over two weeks ago, the police in Skåne also denied a similar demonstration in Malmö initiated by Dan Park, a street artist and provocateur.

Rasmus Paludan would also take part in that demonstration and then, among other things, burn a Koran wrapped in bacon.

However, he was stopped at the Swedish border and was then given a two-year entry ban to Sweden.

But despite the Paludan being stopped and the demonstration being banned, a Koran was still set on fire on the outskirts of Rosengård that evening.

An event that was filmed and posted online and which led to violence erupting in Malmö.

Can come to Sweden after all

Despite an entry ban, Rasmus Paludan has previously stated that he will come to Sweden and Stockholm on Saturday to carry out the demonstration, regardless of whether he receives a permit or not.

According to an application from Rasmus Paludan's party Stram Kurs, the purpose of the demonstration will be to demonstrate for freedom of expression by burning the Koran and "mocking and humiliating Islam".

Rasmus Paludan was sentenced earlier this summer to three months in prison for, among other things, a racist statement in connection with a demonstration in Denmark.

Below you can hear the Finansborgarrrådet in Stockholm react to the plans to burn the Koran.
