About 12.5 thousand people lived in the Moriya camp, where additional restrictive measures were introduced a few days ago after one of the refugees from Somalia was confirmed to have a coronavirus.

The Associated Press reports.

As noted, the fire spread inside and outside the camp.

More than 12 thousand migrants are currently on the street, they are guarded by the police.

The situation is complicated by the fact that among the refugees there are people who test positive for COVID-19.

It is clarified that the cause of the fire, as well as the full extent of the damage, remain unclear.

In March, another fire was reported in a refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesvos.
