At around 6 pm, the police were alerted that a man had driven a car on the platform at the railway station in Sävsjö.

He drove off and the car then got stuck between the platform and the railway track.

No one was injured but police were forced to use pepper spray to check on the man who was not cooperating.

The police initially classify the incident as drunk driving.

- Rescuers are on site to winch the car off the track, says Daniel Wikdahl who is a spokesman for the police.

At the moment, there is no forecast of how long the salvage work will take.

Traffic is stopped between Bodafors and Stockaryd, the Swedish Transport Administration states.
