On the social media platform Tiktok, an app that is popular with children and young people, users are warned about a video showing a suicide.

Several users have viewed the clip's snapshot with the prompt to scroll through if the video appears in the feed.

"Our systems have automatically found and reported the clips because they violate our policy on content that glorifies or shows suicide," a Tiktok representative told The Verge.

According to Tiktok, they have blocked accounts that tried to upload the material, but the video has also been shared inside clips on completely different topics so that people can see it.

"We appreciate the members who report and warn others to watch, comment on or share such clips of respect for the person and their loved ones," the spokesman said.
