Private schools in the Northern Emirates decided to amend the “distance” learning system to have two shifts in the morning and evening, instead of the morning session, in consideration for the families of students who have more than one student.

Schools divided school hours into two phases: the morning period starts from the fifth grade to the twelfth grade from nine in the morning until one in the afternoon, and the evening period from kindergarten to the fourth grade from four in the afternoon until seven in the evening, to give their parents the opportunity to follow them educationally while they receive the lessons.

The supervisor of the kindergarten department at a private school that applies the American curriculum in Sharjah told Al-Emarat Al-Youm that the school had modified students ’attendance from morning to evening after receiving remarks from students’ families regarding the importance of taking into account the circumstances of those who had more than one student.

She explained that the school had received proposals from the students' families to amend the period of kindergarten to fourth grade to become during the evening period and the morning period for the rest of the stages, noting that although the two shifts are burdensome for the educational, administrative and technical staff, and they will be required to attend all day, the school decided Taking into account the proposals of students' families to achieve public interest.

The official of the registration department at a private school in Umm Al-Quwain said that applying learning to morning and evening shifts relieves pressure on students' families and gives them the opportunity to follow their children while learning "remotely".

He explained that with the beginning of this week, the working hours were modified to two shifts in the morning and evening according to the desire of the students' families, as the morning shift starts from nine in the morning until one in the afternoon, and the evening shift from four to seven in the evening.

He pointed out that some students' parents have four children in the school and are unable to provide a strong internet at home, so the students were divided into two stages in order to relieve pressure on the Internet and allow all students to receive uninterrupted classes.

The principal of a private school in Ras Al Khaimah that applies the British curriculum, who declined to mention her name, stated that dividing the lessons into two shifts, morning and evening, came in consideration of the families of employed students, as it was found that some mothers work in the private sector, while fathers work in the government sector, and it is difficult for Mothers follow the lessons of their children during the morning period, so the school decided to convert the classes of students from kindergarten to fourth grade into evening classes to give mothers the opportunity to stay next to their children to follow and supervise them.

She explained that the school has implemented a strict monitoring system during the morning classes, especially for students who remain at home alone as a result of their parents' work, as they are obliged to open the cameras throughout the "remote" learning period to ensure their attendance at all times. Attendance and absence are recorded by teachers. To ensure student commitment, in addition to linking the system "remotely" to their parents 'phone, in order to receive messages and be aware of the teachers' alerts related to their children's behavior.
