It was at the beginning of August that the police in Sundsvall were alerted that a stolen car that had been stolen in Fränsta had been seen on Bergsgatan.

An employee at the gas station had reacted to the driver looking affected.

A police patrol quickly found the suspect vehicle.

When the driver of the stolen car saw the police, he tried to drive away from them.

Drove on the rim

The journey went at high speed, first towards Skönsmon and then towards the central parts of Sundsvall.

The driver ran over cars on the wrong side and also on pedestrian and bicycle lanes.

Despite the fact that the stolen car lost its tire on one of the front wheels and sparks struck, the insane journey continued.

At one point, the chased car collides with the subsequent police car.

"I have a psychosis"

When the car reached Köpmangatan, where the speed limit was 30 km / h, the damaged car passed eleven pedestrian crossings at 60-70 km / h.

At the intersection to Skolhusallén, the driver had difficulty taking the curve but still managed to get up towards Bergsgatan before stopping.

When the police pull out the driver, a man in his thirties living in Ockelbo, he shouts:

- Sorry, sorry.

I have a psychosis, I have a psychosis.

Sentenced to prison

Sampling later shows that the man was under the influence of amphetamine, among other things.

He then admitted in interrogation most of the crimes he was accused of.

The man is now sentenced by Sundsvall District Court to four months in prison for, among other things, aggravated drunk driving, aggravated illegal driving and minor drug offenses.
