France: Alain Cocq hospitalized in palliative care

Alain Cocq was hospitalized four days after stopping his treatment.

This man suffering from an incurable disease, who campaigns for the right to die with dignity, had decided to stop his treatment and publicize his agony to reopen the debate on euthanasia.

But his suffering was such that he joined the hospital, with her consent.

 “Four days after having stopped eating and taking care of himself, Alain Cocq's condition had deteriorated sharply and the pain overcame his desire to die at home.

Alain Cocq was thus hospitalized in Dijon to receive paliative care.

A decision taken with his consent.

However, we do not know if he is fed and hydrated there or what treatment protocol he receives there.

Confronted with the limits of the Leonetti law which does not allow deep sedation for people in his case, Alain Cocq has decided to publicize his agony in order to

campaign for a right

to what he calls a dignified death.

He had thus tried to broadcast live his last days on Facebook before the social network blocked the video.

Her orphan disease, very painful and blocking her arteries, is so rare that she doesn't even have a name.

Alain Cocq had not left the bed of his home for several weeks.
