08 September 2020After the rest day, 10th flat stage at the Tour de France, Le Chateau d'Oleron-Ile de Re St. Martin, 168.5km.

The final sprint rewards the Irish Sam Bennett who takes his revenge by beating specialists like the Australian Ewan and the Slovak Sagan.

At the foot of the podium, fourth, Elia Viviani.

All unchanged in the general classification with the Slovenian Roglic yellow jersey with 21 ”over the Colombian Bernal.



The caravan arrives at the finish line after a few jolts.

Action of the Swiss Kung and Schar, soon recovered.

In the group there are also several falls, one involving the Slovenian Pogacar, the French Martin (third in the general classification) and Formolo, who temporarily lose contact with the platoon (even a minute), then rejoin: another at -16km ( for a traffic island) sees the French Alaphilippe fall without consequences.   



Before the start, the result of the swabs carried out on the rest day (team excluded with two positives between runners and staff): all 166 riders were negative, five positives including, curiously, Richard Prudhomme, race director, forced by the protocol to eight days of isolation (“I'm going to watch the Tour on television, which hasn't happened to me for fifteen years”).

The other four are staff members of four teams.

Wednesday 11th stage, Chatelaillon Plage-Poitiers, 167km.
