Olivier Giroud is only one unit away from Michel Platini, the second highest scorer in the history of the Blues, after scoring his 40th goal on Tuesday in Saint-Denis against Croatia in the League of Nations.

"Exceeding Platini is not something that obsesses me, but it is a goal that is close to my heart", explained last week the center forward of the France team, world champion in 2018, scorer Tuesday on penalty.

Almost 34 years old, the Chelsea striker is now eleven lengths from Thierry Henry, the French team's top scorer with 51 goals scored between 1997 to 2010. Giroud also celebrated his 99th selection on Tuesday.

Only seven Blues players have reached the 100 caps in history.

Second top scorer in activity with the Blues, Antoine Griezmann entered the top five of the best scorers in the history of the France team on Tuesday: here he is the equal of the legend Zinédine Zidane with 31 units.

At 29, the Barcelona striker is now three lengths from David Trézéguet, but still 20 units from Thierry Henry, top scorer for the France team with his 51 goals scored between 1997 to 2010.
