The AstraZeneca laboratory announced on Tuesday that it was pausing the clinical trial of its vaccine against the coronavirus developed in partnership with the University of Oxford, which had just started its phase 3. According to the laboratory, it is “ of a routine action that occurs when there is a possible unexplained disease in a clinical trial ”.

According to the specialist site StatNews, it was a patient in the United Kingdom who suffered from unwanted side effects.

Their severity is not known at this stage.

AstraZeneca says an independent audit will take place as soon as possible to determine if there is a link to the vaccine.
