The Routard dedicated to Lille was printed in 20,000 copies -

Since 2010,
Le Guide du Routard
has not devoted an edition dedicated to the Lille metropolis.
On the occasion of Lille, the capital of design, the tourist guide, in connection with the metropolis, has published a colorful guide, revised and corrected.
Sold at a price of 12.90 euros, it was printed in 20,000 copies.
Ten years ago, Euratechnologies was in its infancy, Florent Ladeyn had no restaurant in Lille, Rudi Garcia was the coach of Losc and Martine Aubry already mayor of the city.
Since 2010, Lille has changed a lot, but until then,
Le Guide du Routard
had not accompanied the development of the fourth largest metropolis in France.
It has now been done since September 2 and the release of a
Routard
dedicated to Lille and its metropolis, the first for ten years.
“We found it a bit incongruous that all the other metropolises in France had their
Routard
and that Lille did not.
For ten years, there had been Hauts-de-France and Nord-Pas-de-Calais guides but none dedicated to the metropolis of Lille.
We therefore contacted the Hachette editions [which publishes the
Routard
] and we have worked together since July 2019 to develop this guide, ”says François Navarro, general manager of the attractiveness agency Hello Lille.

A guide linked to Lille, the world capital of design
But why such stubbornness in having a
special Lille
Routard
Guide
?
Named the world capital of design in 2020, the metropolis wanted to mark the occasion.
Because the best-selling tourist guide in France has a real impact on tourism.
“It is a vector of attractiveness but also a symbol.
It gives a very strong signal to tourism and cultural professionals by showing that we are on the move.
A
Backpacker
triggers a desire and therefore perhaps a stay.
It is one of the tools that can attract visitors, ”recognizes François Navarro.
After more than a year of work,
Le Guide du Routard Lille
has been printed in 20,000 copies and will be sold at a price of 12.90 euros.
Full of color, it already seems to have a bright future, as hoped by Philippe Gloaguen, co-founder of the
Guide du Routard
.
“Guides to the northern region are among the most popular.
The guide to Nord-Pas-de-Calais is the 7th best-selling of the 70 French destinations published by
Routard
.
We noted a real pride of the people of the North to talk about their region.
Many write to us, ”says the owner of the guide.
"I always visit anonymously and I pay the bills"
To write this first guide devoted to the capital of Flanders since 2010, the
Routard
trusted Eléonore Friess.
This former student from Lille spent a week in the Lille metropolis to find the best addresses.
She tells how she shaped this 2020 edition.
“I took the Lille base which already existed in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais guide and I enriched it with addresses that I knew or that readers or tourist offices had recommended to me.
I make a preselection before going there to save time.
Knowing that we do not add an address in the guide if it does not please us or if it is too expensive because we offer good value for money.
I always visit anonymously, I don't show up and I pay the bills.
The selection criterion is: do I want to come back or do I want to recommend it to someone?
», Explains the editor of the Lille guide, particularly amazed by the cultural offer of Roubaix.
It remains to be seen if the public will be there.
According to studies made by the guide, the establishments present in the
Routard
see their attendance increase on average by 30%.
In a complicated Covid period for many, that would not be a luxury.
