In total, this is now the sixth case of covid-19 that has been discovered among the staff at the school in recent weeks.
But this is not a regular outburst among the teachers, says Therese Linnér, head of education in Lessebo municipality:
- In some context, an infected person has met colleagues.
So we can not rule out the spread of infection in schools.
But then it has come in from other places as well, outside working hours, so we do not see a chain in the workplace for everyone.
44 students on sick leave
At the same time, 44 of the school's around 300 students are on sick leave on Monday.
But the school has not received signals from the guardians that any of the students have covid-19 and has therefore not detected infection among the students, says Therese Linnér:
- When people meet again after the holidays, the colds usually start.
Then it is possible that there are a few more now.
But if you have gone to school a little coughing and snooty in previous years, you are at home with it now, it probably comes into play.
Does not shut down - yet
The school management has been in contact with the infection control doctor who has made the assessment that you can continue teaching as usual.
- But is it the case that sick leave increases and we see that we are not able to staff, we must take a position on that then.
We follow the development closely and have a plan to be able to switch to distance education from one day to another, says Therese Linnér.
