Saudi Arabia: Final verdicts issued against 8 people convicted in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi

The official spokesman for the Saudi Public Prosecution stated that final judgments had been issued against those accused of killing Jamal bin Ahmed bin Hamza Khashoggi.

He emphasized that the Criminal Court in Riyadh issued judgments in this regard against eight convicted persons, and acquired the final status, according to Article (210) of the Law of Criminal Procedure, indicating that these provisions according to their wording after the termination of the right of legal assignment of his family shall be imprisonment for periods totaling 124 years long each He was convicted of his sentence according to the criminal act issued by him, as five of the convicts were sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for each one of them, and three of the convicts received sentences of ten years imprisonment for each of them and seven years for two of them, and the spokesman added that these sentences have become final and obligatory Enforcement, according to Article (212) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The spokesperson indicated that upon the issuance of these final judgments, the criminal lawsuit, both public and private, shall lapse in accordance with Articles 22 and 23 of the Criminal Procedure Law.
