There are at least 40 family-based criminal networks in Sweden today that work with organizing and systematizing crime, said Deputy National Police Chief Mats Löfving when he was interviewed in Ekot's Saturday interview.

"A poison in society"

During Monday's press conference, which was about new investments in welfare in the autumn budget, Stefan Löfven was asked how he views Mats Löfving's tasks and how it will be reflected in the budget.

- The budget is presented in several parts and we return to the parts that have to do with the judiciary and the legal chain, said Löfven and added:

- This is a poison in our society that we must remove.

Understand the fear

Löfven also said that he understands that people feel anger, worry and fear.

- We share it.

We will return to the budget and we will not give up, this must be addressed, says Löfven.

C-leader Annie Lööf added that the rule of law must now act with full force.

But it is also about strengthening the other parts of society in order to be able to reduce recruitment to the criminal gangs, she says.

- Then a job to go to, a belief in the future, a good school and parental responsibility are crucial parts.

And we must have both parts in mind to crack gang crime in the long run.
