It is a project that has been trotting for several years in the mind of architect Bruno Granja: an immense complex, dedicated to the cultural and audiovisual industries.

This park is due to see the light of day in the summer of 2024 on the Bayssan estate, on a huge 78 hectare site, in Béziers (Hérault).

It will bring together production studios for film, television, the music industry, the Web or video games, but also an amusement park, where visitors can discover the behind the scenes of blockbusters.

With “immersive experiences” around cinema and video games.

"There will be some surprises"

"We will explain to visitors how to make a film, and they will be able to discover the professional infrastructures," Bruno Granja explains to

.

Licenses have already been signed, and some of the larger ones are interested.

I announce that there will be some surprises!

»We will not know more (for now).

And the ambitions of Bruno Granja, head of the Studios Occitanie Méditerranée company, are great: he plans to make this complex “European Hollywood”, and to attract “the biggest majors”.

And if it had not succeeded, a few years ago, in bringing about a similar project near Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), this time, all the lights seem to be green in Bayssan: the city of Béziers and the Department of Hérault are in favor, the National Commission for Public Debate has validated the file in recent weeks, and public consultation begins on Monday.

"A real need"

“We want to put in place equipment that will allow production companies to locate the entire chain in this complex, from writing to showing the film,” explains Bruno Granja.

With sets, offices, workshops, and exterior decorations, which are very rare today in Europe.

Today, there is a real pole of attraction in the Hérault, with the TF1 and France 2 series, which are filmed here.

This project will strengthen this pole.

There is a real need for international productions, we will be able to accommodate large productions.

The studio and amusement park project could lead to the creation of more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs, attract nearly two million visitors each year and generate up to 300 million euros in annual benefits for the territory.
