Authorities in Japan are warning of heavy rainfall, hurricane winds, high tides and large seawalls as Haishen pulls in across the country.

The hurricane is expected to strike with devastating force in both southwestern Japan and South Korea.

The evacuation order applies to residents of several cities in the prefectures of Nagasaki, Kumamoto, Miyazaki and Kagoshima.

According to NHK, a total of 5.5 million in ten prefectures have been urged to evacuate as soon as possible.

Unusually many hurricanes

The same area was recently hit by Hurricane Maysak, making the consequences even worse.

The Haish is the fifth named hurricane in the area this season, which is extremely unusual. Normally, the area is hit by one hurricane per year, according to SVT's meteorologist.
