In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, the Roads and Transport Authority changed the classic brown vehicle number plates into a new design inspired by the old Dubai plates dating back to the eighties of the last century, characterized by the presence of yellow , With some design improvements to be in line with the design of vehicle plates in Dubai.



Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Roads and Transport Authority, said: “The new design of the classic vehicle plates is clear and easy to read from a distance. Pointing out that the authority will start disbursing new classic plates to those wishing to acquire them, as of next November, through the authority’s website or the Customer Happiness Center in Deira.



He added: "The design of the classic panels was taken into account that they meet all the required technical standards. The new panels are distinguished by luxury, as they are printed in an innovative technological method known as digital printing, and are not affected by various weather factors."



It should be noted that there are specific criteria to classify a vehicle as classic, the most important of which is that the vehicle must be 30 years old or more, and that the technical inspection procedures be fulfilled.
