Trump added that he would not oppose the measures that Germany plans to take against Russia in this regard.

The German government stated on September 2 that experts from the German Bundeswehr laboratory discovered that Navaline was "poisoned" by Novijok-type agents.

Merkel called the information about the "attempt to poison" Navariny "unpleasant."

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Peskov told Satellite News Agency that Berlin had not notified Moscow of the conclusion that Navaline was poisoned by Novichok, and Russia had no such news.

Commenting on the statement of the German government, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the Russian side is waiting for a response from Germany to the inquiry raised by the Russian Prosecutor's Office on the situation in Navaline.

Earlier news reported that the Russian ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev visited the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 2nd due to new circumstances regarding the Navaline issue.

Since then, the Russian Embassy pointed out that Nechayev was “informed of the contents of the statement of the German Federal Government” and “not conveyed any substantive facts to the ambassador”.
