The French president received his Ivorian counterpart this Friday, September 4, at the Elysée Palace for a lunch.

On the menu: the presidential election in Ivory Coast of October 31 for which the Head of State is representing himself despite the controversies over the third term, and the crisis in Mali.

Exchanges on sensitive subjects therefore, but nothing filtered from this meeting.

This lunch was above all a moment of reunion.

As evidenced by the pictures posted by President Alassane Ouattara, satisfied to see "

 ", in his words: on Twitter, we see him greet his French counterpart with his elbows ... Masks on his face, the two heads of state give each other a hug.

No declaration on the French side as Ivorian at the end of this tête-à-tête.

 " to his commitment made during his speech at the University of Ouagadougou in November 2017: the French president is attached to the " 

principle of not interfering in the internal politics of countries

 " , indicates a source at the Elysee, without specifying whether there was question of the sharp tensions which agitate the Ivory Coast a few weeks of the presidential one.
