"The prisoners are not satisfied with such a tight schedule of court hearings, because of this they are deprived of the opportunity to meet with lawyers to discuss the line of defense, do not receive medical assistance - doctors are simply deprived of the opportunity to even examine the prisoners," one of the commission members told RT.

According to him, the human rights activists were approached by a woman who was taken to the hospital of the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center, whose daily trips to court make it impossible to undergo a full examination.

“In SIZO No. 4, a man complained of coughing up blood and diarrhea to the POC members, and today during the inspection it turned out that a week after the appeal was received, they could not provide him with medical assistance, he was taken to court every day,” the human rights activist said , noting that such a schedule of court sessions led to the fact that one of those arrested went on a hunger strike.

The POC also said that the very procedure for transferring prisoners from pre-trial detention centers to courts and back is difficult.

“The defendants are taken up early in the morning - at 05: 30–06: 00, transferred to the cells of the assembly department, where they wait for the convoy for two or more hours.

Then in overcrowded paddy wagons they are taken to the courts through traffic jams in the capital, and this also lasts for hours, and in the evening, after the hearing, the procedure is repeated - and the prisoners get into their cells at 01: 00-02: 00, and in the morning everything is all over again, ”said the member HE TO.

Earlier, the POC reported that the blind prisoner Alexander Zamyatin, who was in jail No. 4, has been transferred under house arrest.
