Many places have encountered extreme and continuous heavy rainfall, and many major rivers have exceeded the warning and protection

  In August, there were 5 large-scale heavy rainfall processes across the country. The average rainfall was 26.8% more than that of the same period in normal years. Among them, Sichuan was 82.9% more than that, Gansu was more than doubled, and Shaanxi was more than 82.4%; Sichuan and Gansu were more than 82.4%. Since 1961, it has the highest number in the same period in history, and Shaanxi has the second highest number in the same period in history.

The main rivers in the country have more water in general. The Yangtze River is 40% to 60% more water, the Yellow River is 50% to 1 times more, and the Huai River is 40% to 1.7 times more.

Affected by the extreme heavy rainfall in the Sichuan Basin, ultra-historical floods occurred in the Pengshan to Gaochang section of the middle and lower reaches of the Minjiang River, over-preservation floods occurred in the Tuojiang, Jialing River, Fujiang, and the Luzhou-Cuntan section of the Yangtze River, and the Three Gorges Reservoir appeared since the construction of the reservoir The maximum inbound flow is 75,000 cubic meters per second.

The southwest and northwest regions suffered severe floods and geological disasters occurred frequently

  In August, 175 prefecture-level cities in 25 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) were affected by floods, causing 11.449 million people to be affected.

The four provinces of Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, and Gansu were more severely affected. The number of deaths and missing persons, emergency resettlement, number of collapsed houses and direct economic losses accounted for 73%, 96%, 80% and direct economic losses of the country’s total flood losses in August. 82%.

In the southwest, northwest and other places, 92 people died and disappeared due to heavy rainfall and flood disasters, which was an 8% decrease compared with the average of the same period in the past five years.

In addition, affected by continuous heavy rainfall, geological disasters such as collapses, landslides, and mudslides occur frequently in the southwest and northwest regions.

The southwest region has the largest number of geological disasters, of which 1,864 occurred in Sichuan, accounting for 59% of the country's total geological disasters.

There are too many typhoons landed, and the "Hagupit" typhoon has a greater impact on Zhejiang

Typhoon No. 4 "Hagupit", Typhoon No. 6 "Mikra" and Typhoon No. 7 "Hagos" landed in my country one after another, bringing certain wind and rain influences to East and South China.

Typhoon No. 4 "Hagupit" landed in Zhejiang, which has the characteristics of fast movement, rapid development, large energy, and strong destructive power. Affected by it, the cumulative rainfall in the central and eastern Zhejiang and Shanghai is 100-280 mm, and Zhejiang is urgently transferred 326,000 people were resettled, and the direct economic loss was 10.39 billion yuan.

Typhoon No. 6 "Mikra" and Typhoon No. 7 "Higaos" landed in Fujian and Guangdong respectively, causing a direct economic loss of 2.05 billion yuan.

In August, affected by typhoon rainfall and the combined rainfall of cold and warm air, significant rainfall occurred in the coastal areas of South China, southern Jiangnan, northern North China, and most of Northeast China. The drought conditions in Jilin and Guangxi provinces (regions), which were severely affected by the previous drought, were basically eliminated. Drought conditions have eased in Inner Mongolia, Liaoning, Hebei, Hunan and other provinces (regions).

Locally affected by strong convective weather, wind and hail disasters are generally mild

  In August, there were 14 regional short-term strong rains, thunderstorms, gales, and hail and other strong convective weather processes across the country, mainly from the Sichuan Basin to North China and the Huanghuai region.

According to statistics, wind and hail disasters caused 1.32 million disasters in 21 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), 10 deaths and direct economic losses of 2.35 billion yuan.

Compared with the average value of the same period in the past five years, the number of people affected by wind and hail disasters, the number of dead and missing due to disasters, and direct economic losses have decreased by 43%, 58% and 20% respectively.
