In May, SVT Västernorrland was able to report that several different accounts with nude photos appeared on Snapchat.

The pictures were alleged to represent girls in Härnösand and Sundsvall.

The flow of images was driven by a studied layout that could be compared to a pyramid scheme.

To gain access to the account, it has been a requirement that you have either been able to contribute with additional nude photos or market the account with "shoutouts".

Anyone who sent a picture with information about who they represent got access to the account.

Several police reports were made by the vulnerable children, but also by parents and several schools in Sundsvall and Härnösand.

Several interrogated

The police investigation is still ongoing and it has not yet been possible to determine who or what was behind the creation of these accounts.

However, several young boys have been taken in for questioning in the case.

Some younger than fifteen years.

- The four boys have been notified of suspicion of unlawful invasion of privacy.

They are suspected of having shared photos and they have had their mobile phones confiscated, says prosecutor Stina Sjöqvist who is leading the preliminary investigation.

There are more suspects and more interrogations may be necessary.

When it comes to the investigation into the creation of these accounts, Sjöqvist says that they "pull in all the threads they can".
