Jacob Blake, the African American who was shot seven times in the back by a police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin on August 23, was released from intensive care.
It was the Democratic presidential candidate for the United States, Joe Biden, who announced it Thursday, September 3.
He went there two days after President Donald Trump's visit.

"
The words of a president count,
" said Joe Biden, before asserting: "
Donald Trump legitimizes the dark side of human nature
.
Sitting on a simple chair in a church, the Democratic candidate listened to testimonies from residents of the town of Kenosha, Wisconsin, traumatized by
what happened to Jacob Blake
and by
the riots
that inflamed the streets.
Then Joe Biden stood up, masked, and said, “
I can't put myself in the shoes of black parents who don't know if they will see their child alive again at the end of the day.
He then recounted his meeting with the Blake family.
We need a president who will work to lower the temperature - not raise it.
A president who will bring people together and find solutions to the challenges we face.
That's what I went to Kenosha to do today, and it's what I'll do every day in the White House.

"
Joe Biden treated him like a person worthy of consideration
"
“
I spent over an hour with the family when I got off the plane.
I had the opportunity to spend time with Jacob on the phone.
He was released from intensive care.
We talked for about a quarter of an hour.
And he said nothing could bring him down.
Whether he can walk again or not, he will not let go
, ”said
Joe Biden
, Thursday, September 3.
The family lawyer commented on the Democratic candidate's visit: “
Joe Biden has shown humanity towards Jacob.
He treated him like a person worthy of consideration and prayer.
One way to highlight the difference with Donald Trump, who, when he visited Kenosha two days earlier, did not ask to meet the Blake family.
