On September 2, local time, the new cabinet of Tunisia with Hisham Mehihi as prime minister won a vote of confidence in the parliament.

  The Tunisian parliament held a plenary meeting on the 1st. After 11 hours of discussion, a vote of confidence in the new cabinet was held in the early morning of the 2nd.

Among the 217 members of the parliament, 201 voted on that day, and 134 voted for confidence.

According to the Tunisian Constitution, the composition of the new cabinet must be approved by more than half of the members of the parliament.  

  When introducing the members of the new cabinet and its policy agenda to Parliament on the 1st, Meichhi said that the new cabinet will focus on "action and efficiency" and take measures to attract investment and reduce public financial waste.

  On July 15, the then Prime Minister of Tunisia Fah Fah resigned and was approved by President Said.

On July 25, Said nominated Mehihi as the new prime minister.

According to the constitution, Mehisi should complete the cabinet formation within one month and submit the list of the new government to the parliament for approval.
