03 September 2020 "No Recovery for Countries that do not collaborate with migrants".

In an interview with Il Foglio, the Minister of the Interior Luciana Lamorgese asks for sanctions for those who do not collaborate on migrants and their redistribution because, "if we want to have an integrated Europe, we must start from here".

Perhaps making it more difficult to access mechanisms such as the Recovery Fund: "I think it's an idea that should not be underestimated", says Lamorgese.

"The migratory phenomenon we are witnessing mainly concerns the autonomous small boats that have always existed and which are difficult to stop except by intervening in the countries of departure". 

"The problem linked to the relocation of migrants in Europe is a problem that does not concern the Regions. It concerns the central government. We can put them in Spain, in Germany, in France, in the Northern European countries. Where is Europe? Europe cannot only be an accounting for structural funds. It must also be an idea, above all an idea, a value ".

This was stated this morning by the President of the Sicilian Region Nello Musumeci interviewed by Giorgio Zanchini during the radio broadcast too.

Replying to a statement by Zanchini according to which the countries of Central and Northern Europe "have welcomed many more of them than we Italians", Musumeci said: "Absolutely not. They are not correctly processed data. I say this because I live in the trenches. immigration and I know with absolute certainty how much myopia and how much cynicism there is in European countries ".

"Europe - concluded Musumeci - intervenes in poor countries from which a large part of this migratory flow moves. Not all come because they have to escape war or persecution. People with poodles in their arms have also arrived in Sicily ..." .
