So far, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has insisted on allowing political ads on Facebook and Instagram, even if political candidates use these ads to lie or spread misinformation.
Other social media such as Twitter have in the past also banned political ads.
Facebook also says that they will remove posts that try to discourage people from voting in the election, for example that you will get covid-19 if you vote.
